A day in the life of a bamboo supplier.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to look over our website and read this blog about being a bamboo supplier.

So ... what is it like working with bamboo and our wonderful customers? It’s great, having such a niche market in the UK means we get to work with a wide variety of people. We always get asked things like "who uses bamboo?" , "what on earth do people do with large bamboo?" and "what’s so great about bamboo?". In this bamboo blog we will try to answer those questions and give you an insight into the wonderful world of one of nature’s greatest gifts.

Bamboo is actually a grass which is surprising to some people, due to bamboo being one of the strongest natural materials on earth. Bamboo poles even have a higher tensile strength than steel! This makes bamboo poles great for construction and decoration. Our bamboo is used to decorate Tiki themed bars and restaurants all over the UK as well as being used to make garden structures such as bamboo gazebos and pagodas. We also supply many TV and film companies such as the upcoming TV adaptation of the film Snatch and the blockbuster movie Jurassic World 2. While Chris Pratt may be using our bamboo to keep dinosaurs at bay here in the real world zoos and safari parks love using our bamboo to make the animals feel closer to home.

We don’t just sell bamboo for construction, its great for all sorts. One of our best seller are our bamboo slats, we were one of the first companies in the UK to supply bamboo slats and still supply the best bamboo slats. They are often used in decoration like at the Coral island casino in Blackpool but it may surprise you to hear they are used in archery too. Apparently bamboo backed bows are some of the fastest bows available due to bamboo’s incredible strength and flexibility properties.

I could go on all day about the wonders of bamboo but I'll save it for the next blog so keep an eye out for that.
