The Role of the Methodological Unit in the Dissertation Research

A correct and competent choice of research methods allows you to make the work weightier and more reasoned, effective and useful. In particular, the final result and the “duration” of its achievement may depend on the correctness of the definition of tools. Sometimes it is possible to reduce costs and expenses for the implementation of the project, while achieving a similar result.

Each technique chosen by the researcher must be justified. The justification of the method is carried out by means of its application and evaluation of the result obtained, comparison with other possibilities. If there are no other ways to reduce costs and eliminate shortcomings / errors, then the technique is considered effective and appropriate for use. If a shorter path to the intended goal with a similar or better outcome is identified, then preference is given to it.

Application of the methodological apparatus when writing a dissertation

Applying this or that method, it is important to calculate each move, compare with other options and choose the most suitable one. It is the analysis that allows you to determine a worthy variant of the course of the study.

The presence of a well-chosen apparatus makes a dissertation:

  • Structured and meaningful: the author uses a certain method in each chapter or subparagraph, revealing in stages, but at the same time in detail, one or another side of the issue under study (topics, problems);

  • Consistent and logical: using the methodological apparatus, the author receives a consistent and logical text. One of the most important methods of any research is "data systematization", which involves the competent distribution of information on the project, taking into account the approved plan, as well as the principles of consistency and consistency;

  • Justified and reasoned: research methods allow you to analyze the situation, collect evidence base and form reasoned conclusions of the author, confirm or refute the hypothesis put forward;

  • Completed, which implies the formation of the final conclusion of the author and the receipt of a specific result.

Research methods allow specifying ways to solve the intended goals and objectives: what actions the must reproduce to obtain the desired result, in what sequence, what tools / techniques / data will be required, etc. Determining the methods of a scientific project allows you to carefully plan the course of the study.
